Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know this is a real bill?

If you received a notice from Medicredit, check the details against your medical records. If you’re unsure, call Medicredit or your original provider directly to confirm the debt.

Will paying Medicredit restore my credit?

Paying a collection does not remove it from your credit report right away, but it can help your score over time. Some credit report changes mean paid medical collections may be removed sooner, but this is not guaranteed.

Can I make partial payments?

Yes, contact Medicredit to discuss payment arrangements that fit your budget.

What if I don’t recognize the debt?

Request a validation letter from Medicredit that explains the debt’s origin, amount, and dates. If it’s not yours, tell them in writing.

Can Medicredit sue me for not paying?

They can take legal action for unpaid debts, but this is not common for every case.

Can I stop Medicredit from calling me?

You can send them a written request to stop phone calls. They may still contact you by mail regarding legal action.

How do I remove Medicredit from my credit report?

You can dispute inaccurate information with the credit bureaus. If the debt is correct, you can try to negotiate a pay-for-delete agreement, but success is not guaranteed.

Can I pay my bill through my hospital’s website?

Sometimes, hospitals and Medicredit share payment portals. Check your statement for the correct payment link.

Tips for Dealing with Medicredit

  • Keep records of all communication and payments.
  • Ask for a receipt after you pay.
  • Contact your original provider if you have questions about the bill.
  • Don’t ignore the notice—contact Medicredit to resolve the debt.

  1. I talked to Joyce on the phone and she put me on “hold” and hung up on me.
Called back and guess who answered.. She began to help me even though she hung up on me the first time. I sent a check 10 days ago and that was ON THE BILL. ITS THE WRONG ADDRESS.
How are you going to send a bill with the wrong address and expect people to pay?

  5. Mdicredit is horrible! I had a bill that was autopay thru my checking account, ten days after a payment was exacted from the hospital that sericed me, they threw the bill into collections, I did not miss a payment, called the hospital, the said they would look into it in 15 days and get back to me, they did not, now, am trying to PAY THE BILL to Medicredit, and they will not tell me how to do this, keep saying “You have to have an attprney call us, I had attorney but he is no longer representing me, and that was days ago, I called three different people as directed by MEDICREDIT TO do so and one says, “You are not atty, we cannot talk to, you” Billing says, “We need to hear from your attorney so we cannot discuss this account at this time.” My attorney calle them just this past Monday, and I still cannot pay the bill! NEVER have had bad credit, always paid my blls, they have had this debt tied up for three years now nearly, and if the hospita had not thrown it into collections, would have been nearly paid! Where are MY RIGHTS??????

  6. I tried to pay a bill SEVERAL times through the portal and it didn’t work. Then, I called directly on multiple occasions and was placed on hold for an unreasonably long period of time.

I just received a call from Medicredit, I called back immediately – again, super long wait times. Sorry, I’m not spending my time like this. Please improve your customer support experience and website. Neither seems to be very efficient.
